How to Fill an Oil Drain Plug Hole

I told you the other day how I burned a hole in my oil drain plug with the welder...Now...I need to know how to patch the hole till the new plug comes in, it is about the size of a kitchen match, for those who know what that is????? Will epoxy work on the outside of the hole or silicon or a wooden peg????? I am out of acetylene and can not braze it!!

I think a match stick (yes I know what they are) or some other wooden plug would work. The wood should swell and stay put. But keep an eye on it. Even if it comes out, it's not like it's going to gush 5 quarts of oil out all at once. What about tapping it and putting a screw into it with some kind of sealer on the threads?

Dip a self tapping screw in gasket sealant and screw it into the hole from the inside.

Take it to someone and have it welded. After you tell your story and show him that mangled pos he might feel sorry for you and do it for free.
