Working on A 8N with A sherman transmission and was wandering how I can check lube level of the sherman trans or does it get filled from the main transmission oil ? Thanks

If you are working on the sherman and it is out you will need to drain and refill before installation. I usually tip the bellhousing down with a pan underneath so that the oil in the main trans hit the slinger and let set over night. It pan is empty in morning than will attach engine. Might save you from splitting tractor again because of leaky seal or gasket. Another thing to remember is if you have some water in your trans you will have water in your sherman. Best to change all fluid at the same time.
