8N sediment bowl

Fuel sediment bowl not filling the line. It stops at the top of the bowl. And it's only if I loosen the bowl. Checked the tank, no rust. Changed the whole sediment bowl assembly, nothing. Changed fuel lines, nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When the carburetor float drops and gas is needed to refill the float bowl the gas level in the sediment bowl will rise. That's the way it works, you are obsessing over a non-existent problem.

As Bob said, it is a demand and supply system. When you first turn on the fuel, the bowl will displace a certain amount of air then stop until the engine is running and the fuel is used - then the float/ needle system comes into play. The fuel has nowhere to go until there is a demand (unless of course it leaks !) HTH.

What you have is a good thang...

Why, if you had a leak the bowl would fill right up :(...

When I service a sediment bowl have adequate fuel in the tank open the fuel valve up and see the bowl does not fill completely I leave it that way for a few min if it fills I have a leak :(...

Once I am satisfied, no leak I crack the fuel line at the bowl about the time the bowl fills close the line then go to the carb if possible and crack the fuel line there. I have just bleed the air out of the fuel line...

I have a 99.9% chance the system is set on go :) I guess a man could use this haft full bowl as a way to determine his fuel inlet valve is sealing and his float is good... A poor boys manometer...
