N Complete Tractor

Hello, has anyone had any issues with N Complete Tractor of Indiana? Tom Terrell has been the owner since late 2011. A friend took his Ferguson tractor there and left a $7,000 deposit for rebuild. Now the web site is shut down, the telephone is disconnected and no tractor or return of the deposit? Wondering if anyone knows the situation with Mr. Terrell? My buddy just wants the Ferguson back. I live in Indianapolis and bought some parts for my Ford 600 from a company with that name some years ago.

If you go to the Indiana Secretary of State business search website you will find a number of companies that have used that name in the past 20 years. Thomas Terrell's name is linked with the current company Hoosier Tractor Parts Inc. doing business as external_link Tractor Company.

sounds like a road trip.

I visited and bought parts from N Complete about 25 years ago. I regarded the operation as reputable with some rather impressive completed tractors. Tom the owner must be a rather senior citizen at this point in time. I would question if this is a health related problem.

The original owner, also a Tom, had sold to the Tom Terrell. I spoke to him yesterday and remains a person of high character.

I know the building they were conducting business from a few months ago currently has the sign removed. I was just past it today. Located in Mt Summit Indiana

They overhauled my 9N back in 2014. I thought they went out of business shortly after that??

ost by Tim Daley on other N tractor club forum in Feb 2019 that said they were out of business.

you posted today "the telephone is disconnected" but you talked to them yesterday?

I talked to the previous owner who sold it to Tom Terrell yesterday.
His number is valid but he has no affiliation with the business.

have him call the district attorney and don't wait to long

I believe there is a WHOLE LOT of comments being made about external_link and NO ONE on this site knows the situation there. Tom has been out of comision for months. I talk to him regularly. He has the company for sale as he is not going to be able to run it. I have discussed this with him and here is what I know is for sale;

A business search shows it is still active legally . An incorporation shelters the board members unless they have breached the safety umbrella . Usually the assets are gone but the physical property belonging to a customer may still exist . If the incorporation has been breached it may be possible to seek restitution from a board member . Incorporation failure does not relieve tax liability , they can come after the a board members assets and garnish any wages or social security checks .

My post shows up in my history but did not post here .

Check the BBB , there are three complaints .

The business is incorporated . Check the state of Indiana site for incorp date , owners , etc .

The business is still active and has not been legally dissolved . You may want to check bankruptcy records .

All, thanks for all the assistance and replies. After others reached out via a Facebook post Tom Terrell contacted me and told me where the tractor was parked. It has been picked up by a good Samaritan tractor enthusiast until my friend can go and get it so it is safe and secured.

So all you know, Tom Armstrong, the original owner of N Complete has no affiliation with the current owner, Tom Terrell. Armstrong was not involved in this incident at all and was very helpful. Nothing but good things to say about him.

Since I've posted my telephone number many people contacted me to stay they too had or are having a bad experience with Tom Terrell and the business is closed. While I've never met Tom Terrell and had never been to the old business it does seem that some people were misled to believing the business is open and still receiving deposits and purchases for parts when in fact it is and has been closed for a period of time. Buyer/Restorer beware/warned. Thanks again to all you tractor guys. Much appreciated. Bill
