Changing fluids, any trick or ideas

When spring and summer comes along, hurry, hurry, hurry, I'm going to change all my fluids, are there any tricks or ideas in changing them, I know they have large drain plugs so I'm gathering when they dump they whoosh, so has anyone have any ideas or tricks to keep the mess of the whooshing to a minimum. The drain pan I use for the van I don't think would work to good for this, to much at one time.
Thanks

A cut down 55gal drum works good. Get new gaskets beforehand for the drains. Ck for leaks and fix them before changing fluids.

Like Bruce advises, drain from the pipe plug in the differential first.

Oil comes out slowly and plug can be reinstalled easily if necessary to change pans.

I use two drawers from an old refrigerator. Works great.

I sometimes wonder how many of those old drawers have been repurposed for oil draining?

I use an old galvanized wash tub and manuals are a huge tool to have...

I AM A HI-TEK REDNECK... I am always on the look out for discarded wet vac's they make a rolling drain pan :)... 10 to 16gal make the best you can cut them down to fit under yer tractor and still have plenty of room for 5 gal of fluid...

The last few I picked up at the local dump I have fixed all that was wrong with them was a plastic bag had found its way over the fan rotor... Folks to cheap to by a replacement filter it cost them a good vac...

Great ideas. The one that's tricky is the engine oil. I use a regular oil drain pan. Loosen the plug first then put the pan up on some blocks or something so it's as close the the oil pan as possible and still get your hand in there to remove the plug. I like the old shop vac idea though.
