A few weeks ago went out to plow or should say pull some snow with my 8N. Everything was going good, after a couple of passes and at the end of the driveway went to lift the blade and nothing happened, Started to swear, there goes my hydraulics, not what I wanted to happen at this time of the year, so I sat there, lever up lever down, up down nothing, thinking great now I have to drag this thing into the garage, I don't know how long I sat there lever up lever down. Then I happened to look at my left foot, it pressed on the clutch, amazing what releasing the clutch does for the hydraulics, had a brain moment, looked around to make sure no one was looking, The ford light bulb moment wasn't there that day.

That sounds like one of my moments. "What the !@#$ happened NOW?!", realize what I've done and sheepishly look around to see if anyone saw it. :D

No way, I'm the only person that happens to. Funny thing is the more "Mature" I get, the more it happens!

That doesn't happen to me. At my age, it takes an effort to hold that clutch pedal down.

I backed my pickup into the driveway the other day and went to drop the snow plow and it wouldn't go down. flipped the power switch back and forth on the controller, no power. Figured I would have supper then check it out. Sitting there eating it dawned on me. I had shut the truck off before I tried to lower the plow, DUH!

I seem to always remember to turn the gas off when done but not so good at turning it on when starting. I do remember after about 50 feet or so LOL.

Back in October when several hurricanes came thru all my prized processions were stored in the shop. When I went to move my Bota it would not move it did the same thing @76 hr there was a issue with the HST. A bud showed up we pulled it out back removed the loader and got in position for the dealer to pick it up its still under warranty.

I was steaming mad its at 150 hr. it would not return I was gonna trade it for another new one then I looked the HST range selector was in neutral. I had checked the HST oil and somehow knocked it in neutral...

This morning I went to the local farm supply (DB) to pick up some
Chicken feed. Drove 21 miles there and realized I had left my wallet at home. I can’t buy feed on my good looks alone.... so I drove back home... maybe I’ll remember my wallet tomorrow!

in my case, i'm happy as long as it had enough gas in the float bowl for me to make it out of the pole barn and clear of the door before it runs out. once i'm out, i always close the door, so it's not a big deal to turn the gas on when i come back to the tractor.

I've wavered back and forth writing this. Cause it is the N board after all.
I do a lot of mindless, forgetful things too.
Forget my wallet, forget to turn the fuel on, can't find my glasses which are on my face or gloves which are in my pocket or even my keys that are in my hand.
But one thing I haven't done since 2004 is lose hydraulic lift because I forgot my foot was on the clutch.
2004 is the year I first got a tractor with live hydraulics.
In a 1953 video anouncing the new Jubilee Ford's own advertising said live hydraulics; "eliminates the need for all the agravating gear shift manipulations when using the 3 point."
They didn't say anything anything about forgetting your foot was on the clutch - but could have...
