Box Blade for 8N

Higgybear

Again I must thank everyone up front for all the great advise I have got from this site. You guys are awesome!!!!! My next question is about box blade for the 3 point
hitch. I found this one (Link Attached Below) It states for ATV, UTV and Small util tractors. However it does have a 3 point hitch. Are there differences from hitch to
hitch, I.E. Sizes or width etc.. And would this one work for light duty. Sorry for the long link..

I have a cat 1 4 ft box blade and really like it. costs new about twice of the cat 0 you are looking at.

As others have said, your 8N has a category one 3 pt.
Yes, there is a difference in the width of the pins, and the pin size.
Avoid anything used that is cat 0/II/III/IV unless you can modify it.

I have one like this [b:2c3264c09b]5 FT KingKutter[/b:2c3264c09b]
Sometimes it is more than an 8N can pull, especially in soft ground.
I have resisted going narrower because this one barely reaches the
width of the tires as it is, but narrower would be easier to pull/push
if you weren't worried about having to cover the width of you tires.

Royse,

That yeller Box Blade looks great!
It looks like there's only room on the lower pins for flat bar
but not enough room for a lower link ball. (?)

Better have another look through my magnifying glass. :)

Lookin' at that one makes me abandon the notion of turning a regular back blade into one. Better to buy one. If my neighbors want me to box blade their driveways, they'll have to buy one and I'll work to own. :)

A friend up the road just gave me a nice 3pt plow that's been languishing in their woods. Not as versatile as my red one but it has a nice removable grader edge on the blade. I'm thinking of making a single toothed ripper to bolt to it when the plow is off.

The king kutter looks pretty good. Very similar to my Gill box blade. I just don?t think the one from the OP will do the job.

This is one my Dad made. It is six feet wide to cover both tire tracks. It also has one extra scarifier tooth. It was made much like an IMCO box blade. It is plenty for an 8N, but just take smaller bites. It can get right next to a house foundation so very little hand shoveling.
