Jubilee lift trouble shooting.

Hi guys,
new to the forum I have been searching around trying to find a answer to the problems on my dads Jubilee. The last time he used it, he was blading his gravel drive (he said it was working when he parked it). A couple weeks later I went to move it and the lift wouldn't lift. I pulled the blade off and there is nothing. I lift the arms by hand and they just fall down with no resistance. I changed the fluid, tried to blow compressed air in the dip stick and get nothING. I pulled one of the remote plugs off and get fluid pumping out with the motor running. I am guessing the seals on the lift piston might have gone bad.

Next weekend I am heading down to bring the tractor home and tear into it. I am just looking for advise on what I should focus on. I am no stranger to a wrench but I am new to digging into this old traolder . If you where to rip into the lift system assembly what would you replace or is there a rebuild kit that has everything I need?

Thanks in advance,
Asher

Hi Asher, welcome to the forum. The very first thing you should have is a copy of the I&T FO-19 Service manual, there is a pretty good section on the hydraulic system and trouble shooting. Next, when you get the tractor home, there is a lever (position control) on the left side under the seat. Move it from either horizontal or vertical to the other and see it that makes a difference. When you were blowing air into the dip stick tube, you did have the engine running, right?

Thank you for the replies, i went south last weekend and brought
the tractor home. This weekend I start digging into it. I did
order that manual thanks for the advise..

I have three items to tackle while its here, the lift issue, pto
seal replacement, and fix loose/sticking steering (guessing a
box rebuild).

If you guys could recommend a good part source for this tractor
that would be great, I'm not looking for oem restore grade, just
good price/parts to get the old tractor back up to be safe and
usable again.

Yes I did move that lever with no response, and the tractor was running when blowing air in the case, thanks for verifying that.

Sorry for the delay response, I was worried I was giving some
false info when posting. I wasn't looking at the ax supply
flow, what I did was pull the top cover plate/seat mount off and
started the tractor to verify fluid flow. The fluid was flowing
at a steady rate up and out of the hydraulic hole in the lower
case. If setting on the seat looking down it would be the hole
on the front right side by the plate mounting bolt.

I pulled the piston assembly out and blew air into the fluid
hole and popped the piston out, I was hoping the piston sealing
ring was damaged but it doesn't look to be the case. The
service manual isn't here yet so I think I might stop here and
wait before pulling the valve assembly a part.
