we have a poster on our local CL that appears to be running a flea market which is contrary to CL rules. the FLAG option is no longer available on the posters ads only a prohibited tab which does no good as far as reporting said poster. (so far as I know that is ) is flagging still an option and how does one do it ?

thanks.

Opening the ad and clicking prohibited is flagging it. CL changed the word and made it so that ad doesn't show up on the list again.
CL is being overrun by businesses that use scores of keywords to bring their ad up when you search for something.
I'm sick of it and flag (click prohibited) a lot.
For example, there is an outfit that calls itself an industrial thrift store that sells all kinds of used stuff from astroturf to telephone poles to concrete sealer. They use about 100 keywords so almost anything you search for brings up their ads for unrelated stuff. I flag those relentlessly and wish everyone else would too.
Or a Kubota dealer that types Ford for a keyword. I flag those too.
One thing that helps is to click on options and select owner. That does help get rid of some of the spam ads.
When I use the owner option if a dealer uses it I flag it instantly.
Remember, CL is community moderated. We collectively have the power to rid CL of the crappy dealers that are spamming the ads with keywords. I wish people would flag more.
Off of soapbox now.

We are individually the judge of what is acceptable and collectively the jury that decides what stays on and what gets flagged off. It takes many flags to kick an ad off -
not just one. Exactly how many it takes is unknown.
That is how the place is set up.
It works.

Steve, we have one of those guys here too. (Indy northwest) He is a dealer of some sorts and I only search for sale by owner ,this guy shows up with about 50 ads at a time, i flag the ads but he reposts them in a few weeks and I have to do it all over again. Wouldn?t be so bad but his prices are really high and he types in all caps...irritates me lol.

Locally, there is a dealer of used farm equipment that routinely posts 25-50 ads and has been doing so for years.

He's obviously a dealer (I've been there.), but always posts as owner to avoid the $3.00 ad fee for dealers.

He's been doing it for years and reposts or renews every couple of days.

A few years ago, I complained to CL (don't think that that is possible anymore) and his ads disappeared for a couple of months before returning.

Annoying.

same thing here only this poster/poser deals in jewelry, guitars and electronic gizmos. been going on about a year.

(quoted from post at 06:20:30 01/31/19) so you all are the judge and jury. how interesting.

i most assuredly am the judge and jury of the (*U&dmfing keyword spammers. i DESPISE them, and like ultra, i flag them relentlessly. some of the spammers make it easy by including links to "more ads by this poster". how nice, i can flag even more of your bogus ads.

There are business?s in my area that post on CL all the time too, it irritates me. I don?t do FB but thinking about creating an account, seems like a lot more action on FB vs CL now....

There is a guy in Cary NC that runs a flea market and post some stuff on Cracklist I have brought some neat chit from him :)... If I am in Cary I always stop by his place...

He's is on the back of mall I would have never found him without cracklist...
