Ford 120 8NNN part numbers

Over the years I have acquired several of these Toro series II units. I am needing several parts to finish some of my projects. These have what I believe is a Ford 8NNN industrial motor(very similar to the 8n motor). All that I have torn down do have sleeves, no governor, and a timing cover that is also the motor mount. This also then requires a different oil pan. I am looking for part numbers for the timing cover with motor mount, oil pan, and carburetor. I haven't been able to locate part numbers to begin my search. Any thoughts? These are 1942-1949. The carb is just opposite that of the 8n. The throttle attachment is on the out side rather than next to the block. I appreciate any help or direction. Thanks

The generator mount, from memory, looks like the standard early
N series mount. I can look at one after work tomorrow to verify.

The carb looks to be a Marvel Schebler TSXU. U for universal.
The linkages could be installed from either side for use with many
different configurations and models. I have a couple of them left.

I can't help with the oil pan or motor mounts.

"The motor mount frame is actually connected to the timing gear cover. All one cast piece."

Very interesting. I've never seen one of them. Usually the timing
cover is aluminum and I'm sure that motor mount would not be.
So is the timing cover cast steel as well? I'm assuming steel here.

I see the lack of a governor. Is there a hole there for the governor
with a block-off plate or solid cast with the oil line going into it?

I'm not adding much help with part numbers here. Sorry.
Carb still looks like a TSXU to me.

Yes, it is set up for a governor. Just a plain plat cover with a line from the oil filter. It is all cast as one piece and not aluminium.

TORO-WORTHINGTON built their golf course tractors using Ford power plants starting with the Model A. My M/S manual shows a TSX-83 Industrial Carb but I don't see much more as a far parts. My OEM 8NNN Maintenance & Operator's Manual shows that the carb used a fuel pump. The NTC site has an 8NN manual for free download but it isn't the one I have. You have the 2N-10000 Ford generator with the belt tensioner attached so suspect your model is a bit earlier than ?49. There are TORO clubs and collectors so you may have to contact them for parts.

I will give you some part numbers for a ford truck with 9N engine.
0NY6019 front cover with motor mount cast into cover.
0NY6675 oil pan
9N6017A timing cover, hopefully with out hole for governor.I could not find anything about a block off plate to cover governor hole.
0NY9510 carburetor with throttle shaft lever opposite tractor.
Carb top, bottom and venturi are same number as tractor.
9N engine was used in electric generators also withh what looks like to me the same parts as truck.
Except generator has Wico magneto that was adapted to front mount and belt tension idler is different from Tractor with out electrics. This info may only confuse the matter but from pictures you posted it sure looks like what Ford truck and Ford powered generator used.

Thanks for your input. When I lookup your timing cover it look like

I am trying to locate one like this. With motor mounts

Your top photo in red I think is part # 9N6019 for tractor. 8N6019 is same but made of aluminum.
0NY6019 should be for truck and I think but not sure for power units and probably your Toro.
0NY6019 was used in 1941-42 Ford pickup with 9N tractor motor.

Aha! Now I know what the "ears" on my replacement industrial engine originally looked like!

Hobo, this is apparently what you were asking about on my industrial engine, the channel iron on the sides. Here are some better pics of my industrial engine with the ears cut off.

The timing cover is a one-piece cast, but the ears were cut off and mounted to my old 52 8N oil pan and then mounted on my tractor. Engine still undated, but runs fine, so no worries!

Jimps in GA.

Duner, That really clears up a lot. The Toro parts manual uses that same "ONY" prefix on many other non engine parts. This clarification really makes sense now. Thanks!

Interesting about other non engine parts having the 0NY prefix.
ONY means 0 for 1940, N for tractor, and Y for design unit within Ford.
Give me 4 -5 parts number with ONY prefix and tell me what they are and I will see if they match up with Ford parts catalog and price book.
