Craigslist ad for 4 tractors.
Must buy all 4. Will not seperate.
It is his stuff. His sale. He can do what
he wants. I get that and don't have a
problem with it.
But can someone tell me how that makes
sense?
Maybe it's a good deal but who has the
wherewithal to haul home 4 tractors at
once. I'm not saying all 4 on one trailer
at the same time of course but deal with
all 4 in the same week even.
Dunno.
There was a guy north of here who had an
8N on a 2 axle trailer. Both looked
decent.
Ad clearly stated "WILL NOT SEPARATE".
It ran for months. Average price for
either/or.
How does that make sense?
Not complaining here. Not interested in
Any or All of them.
Just wondering out loud...

All I can say is he wants them gone. Loss of interest? May be an estate trying to sell. Any run? Non-runners don't bring much. Even $500 each would be a push if they don't run. My opinion. Others may vary.

He needs $4K. Some of them won't sell at all if sold separately and he will come up short. So he is using the better ones as a way to move the junk. I'd bet $4K buys any [u:955327c98d]one[/u:955327c98d] you want.....

TOH

if in could get 1200 each at one pop for my TO-35's I would sell them all. after 39 years of having tractors I am ready to move on. 60's muscle car sounds neat ?.something I can drive on the road and have some fun.

I do not know my 100 series , but there is a wide front in one pic and a tricycle ? in another , plus the 8n and to20.

Maybe he would have done better with "Buy One , Get Three Free" ?

On this particular ad, with no information on running condition etc.
I'd have to agree with TOH.
I have run across a few that had ulterior motives though.
Like a guy that wouldn't separate the box blade because when
you unhooked it the 3 pt went to full up and wouldn't lower.
Then there was a JD 2 cylinder I looked at that they wouldn't
separate the 3 pt and sell it separately because it was welded on.

Scammer?

Clueless?

Got a new GF that says his stuff has to go, no matter what?

I got a really nice lathe some years ago from a guy with a b$tch GF that declared it surplus to what was needed for happiness in their relationship.

Wonder how that worked out for him?

NOOOOO you guys need to learn how to deal with a nagging wife. She says you got all those tractors and the carpets in the house are worn to the backing,I want new carpeting------ get rid of some of your tractors we'll use the money for new carpet. He says "Yes Dear". He runs an ad ----------- Must buy all 4 and when nobody wants all 4 and his wife in the blind about the all 4 or none he can say "Dear I tried and tried but nobody is interested in any of my old tractors". And the kicker is he aint lying.

I have seen that in practice WW2N. It doesn't work out well!
Kind of like, if your wife is yelling to be let in at the front door
and your dog is barking at the back door, which do you let in first?
The dog, of course. Because it will then stop barking. ;)

He probably figures that all together they are worth way more than $4000 but he'll concede to letting them go for that price
only if you agree to relieve him of his entire iron burden. :D

I'm thinking......'He needs someway to get his 'Lawyer fees', for a divorce settlement'???????.....AND that is the only thing he owns, after she got everything else!!!

Great, Lock your dog and your wife in the trunk of the car, drive 100 mi open the
trunk and see which one is glad to see ya.

Twenty years ago or more, some fellas would buy in bulk like that; go to Canada and haul back semis full of vintage tractors and equipment no papers or questions asked for resale in the US as demand and supply made prices so one could make a bit of profit. After 9-11 the US borders tightened up security and policies. Coming into the US now required you had bill of sales to confirm that you owned that equipment. Stupid for sure ?what does a vintage tractor have to do with illegal immigrants and/or terrorists entering the US??? The vintage tractor market is now on such low demand that prices are also low, less than half of what they got 10/20 years ago. I see N?s going for $1200 on average and even then don?t sell many. In 1990 I bought my ?48 8N with a new back blade and 5? brushhog all for $3500. The tractor was brought in from Canada as I outlined above. It was all original and had one owner ?a potato farmer. Perhaps this guy is thinking of those old days. I really doubt if he?ll get a bulk buyer but more power to him if he does. If not, after a few months without getting any takers, he may decide to split them up.

Maybe it is the wife??? You always hear of ex-wives putting ads in the paper and such for things like "Vintage 1962 Corvette -Mint Restored Condition -Must Sell - $1500" and turns out it was hubby's prize possession and she listed it low just to tick him off. Guys would call and ask if the price was a typo, maybe missing another zero, and she'd say, no, she just had to get rid of it now.

Hahaha as a happily divorced man there's no way I would ever let a girlfriend dictate which of my possessions were necessary or not. I kind of feel bad for those suckers right up until the point that I get a good deal on whatever it is they're selling thanks to their b!tch girlfriend/wife.

I called about an add as per 4 Dodge Rims and Tires. Off 2006 3500....as good as new condition.

Will only sell if owner is allowed to deliver?????

Meet fellow in parking lot, handed him $400.00....

I was informed if I required the rest of the Truck here's is address...........

Fellow had his bags packed and was headed South......"The EX is going to be ------ he says..............:)

looks like all are projects in various stages of apart, he may have got overwhelmed and fed up, or divorce forces sale, or its a kid who got to grandpas stuff and wants a new big screen tv from china, there's no telling , its going to
be hard to sell a package deal for all of those though

He will never sell them together. I know two brothers that farmed together. There dad bought a new 8n and nearly a full set of Dearborn implements in 1951. The younger brother decided against the wishes of his big brother that the Ford stuff had to go. He advertised in Nebraska and Colorado newspapers. Everything in one large lot. 1951 8n,post hole digger, lister, cultivstor, plow, disc, spring tooth, spike tooth, sickle mower, rake, and dirt scoop. No replies. he couldn't figure it out. Months later they were consigned to an auction. The individual prices added up to more than he was asking for the entire lot.
