Carb Parts

They have to be screwed onto the #12 screws, but they stay put.
Most local hardware stores carry the stainless steel ones.
Much cheaper to order online in bulk tho. I would mail you some.

What was the issue with the lockwashers you used at first, you didn't say, or is it you just didn't have any? The four 12-24 x .805 carb half fastening screws are Fillister Head, not machine screws. Since I do a lot of carbs and distributors, I buy most of my hardware in bulk from McMaster-Carr. Quantities typically come in boxes of 100 pieces each. See link below for 1/4" lockwashers at $1.87 per -can't beat that. I will order stuff like this with other parts to save on shipping and I have had parts delivered within 12-15 hours after ordered with no special extra shipping charges added. My local CNH dealer is 15 miles away. They sell good hardware too, $2 by the pound, so if I need something right now, I will go there. Now they don't carry ALL the parts I may need like the 12-24 Fillister Head screws, but do have stuff that the 'other' crappy places in town have, or should I say don't have. TSC, ACE, and Fastenal are just plain useless, in my opinion, as they NEVER have what I need. If they do, pricing is ridiculous. We use to have a place in town called 'Mid-States Bolts' and they could get anything I needed, often in the stock, but if not was there the next day and prices were great. Then Fastenal moved in and forced them out of town. I am happy to send someone a set of bolts or nuts at no charge if they need them. Just ask.

The 1/4" lock washers are way too big, might work on two of the Fillister head machine screws but not the other two. Look at the photo I posted. That is all the further 1/4" Washers will go down.

Look at the screws and washer on an original not messed with carb and you will see that the lock washers are NOT 1/4"

I believe what I bought and used are # 12 lock washers. The carb is on the tractor and running fine, by the way.

When I can't find what I need anyplace else, I go to ACE.
