same 9n put in new sleeves got used pistons with new rings from e-bay no markings on two pistons for no. 1 & 2 cly. does it make a difference if pistons ARE REVERERSED 2 INTO NO. 1 CLY AND 1 INTO 2 CYL. ?

Pistons are interchangeable, however most all of them that I know of are marked in some way and only go in one way, the mark to the
front of the engine. This is because the wrist pin hole is offset to prevent piston slap.

I'm thinking it wouldn't be appropriate to post it here and I don't know how to message a picture to you. Do you have some old tin?

This could be , But I have never heard it before .

The connecting rod will work if it is rotated 180 degrees but the pin hole that lets oil to the wrist pin , that has been slung from the crank rotation would be on the side shielded from the path of the oil spray .

Either way it is probably not a big deal as we have had reports of pistons installed with the notch to the back that have run fine for years ???
