Colors aren't spectacular I guess it's not quite peak yet but the leaves are sure falling fast. The first picture you can see whats left of an old foundation just below the rocks probably a barn. The next was taken from the top of Crotched mtn. in Greenfield NH. looking toward Mt. Monadnock. The rest are pictures my wife liked on the ride back home. I really like the big rocks in this part of NH and all the rock walls that line the old roads and the rock walls that seem to wander aimlessly thru the woods. It makes you wonder what it was like back in the day and who built them while clearing the land. It is fun to imagine what the buildings looked like while looking at the old foundations some have the remains of the center chimney and old wells and maybe a barn foundation and almost always old overgrown apple trees nearby still dropping apples after all those years for the bears and the deer. I hope you enjoy my Sunday afternoon ride.

Flembo.

About all the rocks . . .
It reminds me of a day I spent in Mt. Shasta California.
I wondered how it came about that every other house in the town was made of stone, then I took the long drive to the top of Mt. Shasta and the reason became clear. The road was cut out of the side of the mountain and for the whole way the road was bordered with loose rocks on the mountain side of the road. So all a guy had to do was drive up empty, load up with rocks and head back down.

Didn't even need a good engine just good brakes and a trans that wouldn't pop out of gear. :)
