Another TSC oil thread for you

I really like TSC's Traveller "Fleet Diesel" 15W-40 oil.

I was using straight 30W detergent, with a bunch of Lucas additive, in my 8N because it has low oil pressure when hot. You boys suggested that I try 20W-50 because you thought it might hold its viscosity better at high temperatures than the 30W with Lucas did. But I bought the 15W-40 at TSC instead because I couldn't find any 20W-50 there at the time. The 15W-40 definitely hangs in there better at high temps than the 30W and Lucas did. Next time I go to TSC I'm going to see if they have any Traveller Fleet Diesel 20W-50 because maybe that would work even better.

I've never seen 20W50 with Traveller label but both of my local tractor/farm stores have it in Mystic brand.

I've never seen any brand of 20-50 diesel oil or any diesel that recommends it. I'd stick with the 15w-40 it will work fine.

I use the Traveller branded oil too. It's cheaper than Walmart's
house brand and I've never had any trouble with the oil or the
premium M2C134D tractor hydraulic fluid. (not 303)

Still, and I'm sure you know this already, heavier oil is a band-aide
to raise oil pressure in an engine that really needs proper repair.
These are tough old machines. They'll run that way for a long time.
Too long and it could be more expensive than doing it up front tho.
