8n No hydraulic lift or pressure

Cleaned out the case of bunch of crap and no lift to start with. Went through the hydraulic pump and cleaned all the components and replaced gaskets. Did not see any major wear but the pump is giving me zero pressure. I took the plug out of the side of the pump near where the line goes up to the lift piston with everything running and not a drop of pressure. Have not messed with the lift arm quadrant yet and the arm that goes to the pump does not appear bent. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum - Glad to have you!!

As Royce indicated, forgetting to engage the PTO has happened to more of us than will admit.

One other item to check is to make sure the control rod is actually opening the inlet control valve. If quadrant adjustment is required, slide it towards the back of the tractor to move the control rod closer to the pump housing.

Next item to check would be a failed relief valve.

If those check out, I would suspect a problem during pump reassembly.

Thank you for the quick reply. I will check those things and let you know. The PTO is on and I have the side cover off viewing the pistons moving causing turbulence in the oil.

Did find an issue with the Exhaust valve spring... valve on
front left of pump and replaced it with a new one that seams to
function alright. Went through everything again to check my
work with pump rebuild and no issues. Took the cover off the
top of the rear end and looks like the spring measurements
are correct and everything is moving good. Put all back
together and before adding oil verified the control valve was
going in when putting the lift arm up. The bracket that works
the control valve and exhaust valve will only move so far
because of the seat on the exhaust valve. It will not contact
the pump case on the control valve side. Far as I can tell all it
original with valveing and bracket.

Will the relief valve cause me still to have no pressured if it is
faulty? I would think if the pump components did not look that
bad that they would still give me some kind of lift but not sure.

Yes, if safety valve is completely open. Easy enough to check for this by sliding a clear rubber hose over the valve - If the valve is open, oil will flow up the hose.

Another slight possibility is the chamber are air locked. Loosen the chamber plugs on the top and run it for 10-15 mins. Any time you disassemble a hydraulic pump, it's always a good idea to coat pistons and valves with Vaseline to help with initial prime.
