The original subject was "Re: DEARBORN 2244 CORDWOOD SAW TOP LINKPULLEY BRACKET".

Hi,

I noticed this post from many a year ago and I'm having the same problem as this gentleman. I recently purchased a Dearborn 22-44 cordwood saw for my 9N but the PTO did not have the top link bracket. Do you still have reproductions or similar available? Or do you know the part number or have drawings etc. whereby I could fab something myself?

I apologize that this is so late and I'm uncertain how to navigate to reply more directly but any help guidance is certainly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your time!

Derek

Bummer!

Thanks Dean. I wonder if there is anyone else who would have any information regarding this bracket? Am I in the wrong area?

Derek

Dean is right Ken died a few years ago. I might have the bracket. Will look today and let you know.

I have multiple pulleys, some with bracket and some without, some with spacer/adapters, some without. I also have 2 Dearborn saws, with or without blade(s).

I'm willing to sell any or all but am not willing to sell saw brackets separately or 1 3/8" pulleys at this time.

You may be able to find a bracket on ebay.

Dean

Thanks Kirk!

I've been scouring Ebay and MAY have a lead on one...I'll (anxiously) await what you find out today to determine if I need to keep up my search!

The Dearborn Cordwood Saw (and prior Dellinger Model for 9N/2N) was powered by the belt pulley which was directly attached to the tractor PTO shaft on the rear diffy case. The saw had a 'wishbone' bracket on it that fastened to a special bracket bolted to the top of the belt pulley via a linch pin. Is this the bracket you need? If so, I may have an extra one over at the farm. Ken(PA) passed away a few years ago. He was making some and sold a few as I recall.

Tim,

Yes! That is exactly the bracket I'm talking about. The little bracket that the "wishbone" attaches to. The bracket bolts to the top 2 bolts on the PTO flat belt output housing and the wishbone connects to it with a linch pin exactly as you describe.

If you could check for me it would be greatly appreciated! I am having a difficult time finding one, and when I bought the "entire" 22-44 setup, I didn't know I didn't get "everything" until I tried to put it on my 9N.

Thanks a ton in advance for your assistance!

I don't know for certain if I have an extra bracket or not. I will be going to the farm/barn shop today so will try to remember to look. If Kirk or I cannot find one, an alternative is to watch for belt pulleys for sale as oftentimes they will still have the bracket attached. The wishbone arm and the pulley bracket use a special linch pin too -smaller than the standard one.

Yes, fleabay often has belt pulleys still with the bracket attached. Since most all sellers have no clue what the bracket was used for, they don't advertise it in their listings. I, too, have several belt pulleys, some with the bracket, but parting with just a bracket may be difficult for me as well. I have CRS but seems I have one or two loose ones somewhere. I have a Dearborn 22-44 I restored years ago, shown in above picture, and also my grandfather's original Dellinger/Ferguson-Sherman Cordwood Saw I acquired along with all the original implements he bought with his early Ford-Ferguson 9N tractor which I'm restoring.

I have one. It's not an original one. Email me in classic view and will send some photos and details.

Hey Tim,

Call off the hounds! I ended up making a bracket and I have it working now. I appreciate everyone's efforts and assistance!

Thanks everyone for their time!
