Just saw this on craigslist. I am not a perfectionist by any means, but yikes. That paint job...

That is as ugly as an Allis Chalmers painted green.

I don't know the guy , so I am guessing he is putting lipstick on a pig to sell a $1500 tractor for $3000 . I have no problem with that if you are up front with the buyer . " I cleaned her up and shot a coat of paint on her and I am asking $3k " is great . On the other hand " She has been rebuilt and I am losing money at $3k but I have to sell her " is what I mostly see .
If he would have painted the rims white and hubs blue , and maybe even the fenders white , it would have matched better .
My pet peeve is seeing lugs and lug nuts spray painted with the tire still on . As said already , the shifter boot and tie rod boots indicate this tractor is being unloaded on someone unfamiliar with tractors .

The way I look at is this. I could be sitting outsids rotting away along some fence row with a owner saying,"No it's not for sale I'm going to restore it some day" then you go back 10 years later and its halfway into the ground. Wether you like it or hate it the paint is preserving a part of history.

"the job itself is good"
Well, it probably looks "way better than it used to".
I don't mind the blue color, it's his tractor.
But they painted the shifter boot, got overspray on the tires and
painted the steering boots that are still in place. Looks like a least
one of them is missing. If they painted the tires, they didn't bother
to clean and paint the inside of the rims to preserve them.
If they painted the steering boots, it's likely that they didn't take the drag links, or radius rods for that matter, off before painting. If they didn't take them off, they didn't clean under/behind them or paint under/behind them.
The paint likely will not stick for long since it wasn't cleaned properly and someone will have to clean it all off to do it right.
They made the next owner a whole lot of work.
Whatever color the next owner decides to paint it.

What are they asking for it? I couldn’t stand to look at it very long, would change the color scheme definitely...

Would have been nicer with gray rims I think. As to the blue, it really is the "default" Ford Tractor color. They likely built more Empire Blue tractors - for more years - than all the Gray, Red and Yellow ones combined.

Yea, the job itself is good. The color scheme with fenders and all though. To each his own I suppose.
