Anyone have a number for an aftermarket voltage regulator for an M5 with a Prestolite generator? We were told in Vo-Tech if they are a B circuit you need one for a B circuit. This is one that bolts on the steering wheel support behind the fuel tank.

You can get solid state ones now to replace Delco, but pricey.

I just looked it up in my Standard Motor book and it's part number is VR25 for the Prestolite generators on the M5

Ok, Thank you. I'm going to try and clean this one up and adjust it. I've done that before on them and got them to work but... if it doesn't work.... lol

No, I didn't. Different internals than the last one I worked on. Guess a new one will be in order.... for almost $100 lol

I understand completely I tried to clean up the one on my G706 and it didn't work to long afterwards lol. I kinda figured I'd have to replace it as it had been getting hot.

I got the one on our Oliver Super 77 Industrial to charge again. Worked for another 15 years until we ended up parking the tractor.
Sometimes they work sometimes they dont lol.
