First of all, after way too much time I finally got my Grandad UB up and running. Been riding around on trying to get all the fine tuning done and finding out what else needs doing. During this time I got water seeping out the weep hole below the water pump. Just want to make sure its the seal thats leaking before I pull the cover off the pump. I put a fresh seal in it when I built the engine but it had been on the shelf for years so maybe it werent no good. 283 gas engine. Lemme know if Im missing something. Thanks DP

How much did you run it after you put in the new seal ? Those seals don't go bad on the shelf. Did you resurface the hub that the seal mates to when you put it in? How long was it parked since you ran it last? Was it drained? If you run it enough and you are lucky it may mate and reseal itself. Keep the weep hole clean so the coolant doesn't get in the oil.

Probably 2 hours run time since the rebuild. Initial start up revealed a leaky radiator so after a series of
unfortunate events I finally got it back. In the meantime it sat drained of coolant. No machining. Let it
run, see what happens. Try to get some pics posted when I get it back out. Storm damage cleanup on
the agenda now.

I live in a wooded area so all I had was a bunch of limbs, some that needed a chainsaw, but we still got people without power and a lot of damage to other stuff, roof damage and the like. Brother lives out on the open prairie so he got more tree damage but I think thats it. Couldve been worse.
