Restoring a Minneapolis Moline Z so we bought a super original donor tractor, the sediment bowl on the donor tractor was a screw on type instead of the normal wire bail to secure the bowl, does anybody know if that was original or not.

Also when we sandblasted the seat spring and holder we found some red paint, any clues?

The spring is red from factory, at least on my UB and GB.

I think the seat shock was originally red, probably an updated seat suspension, that is the deluxe seat, could have been dealer installed

The one you picture is the correct original type bowl. Jay in MN has those bowls. 507 .380.3707. As far as red paint the only red on the tractor is the wheels and if it has a PTO mechanical lift and brackets for a cultivator. Someone might have replaced the factory seat with a hydraulic ride seat and that would more that likely have been red.

Sediment bowl on U/Z/R. with hydraulics. Common to break on threads. Agco should have. Used on Cockshutt/MM/Oliver combines in 70s

That's the type that's on my 1950 R. Not sure about original or not.
