Hi. I have a g1000 Ive used for years,
Brown belly on propane. The story I have is
In the 80s the engine was torn apart and
Thats when it was upgraded to 605 jugs
And crank. It has 10a4231 heads. Propane
Has lately been harder to acquire , I live
Few dozen miles from town and I keep getting
Astronomical quotes for having someone come
Out and fill the tank. Curious about swapping it
To run on gas. My friend says he has a carb ,
Would I need to run race gas , or would a supreme
Or premium suffice?

I actually dont think anyone could afford the amount of gas that would burn. It would probably be 10 gallons an hr.

You might be better off picking up a used 500gal tank and have it filled at regular prices. You should be able to buy a tank for the trouble it will be to convert. Fuel tank, hot manifold, carb, plus your tin work won't fit right. As Rustred said it will be a gas guzzler.

PS Be sure the tank you pick up has a stand pipe in it to draw liquid off the bottom. Most all tanks have them, unless it is a real old tank. also be sure it has a tag (plate) with all the specs on it or no LP company will fill it.
