Which one is cylinder #1 on a Delco Remy rotor cap

Depends on what engine, and if the last guy installed the distributor as in factory stock position, same as timing on the flywheel, depends on whether the last guy installed the flywheel corectly

Whichever one the rotor is pointing to when no. 1 cylinder is at TDC.

Rich's Toys, Better revise your statement. You could be 180 degrees off on exhaust stroke.

Yep, you're right! I should have said TDC on COMPRESSION stroke.

I use the post closest to the cylinder block, right above the wire going to the coil. And I dont think this distributor has ever
been removed.
