Is this tractor worth the effort?

My neighbor has the following MM LPG tractor and offered it to me for free if I wanted it, just to get it off his property.
Model #4 1/4 x 5 283A
Serial # 0195003540
Casting UT-100D
I m sure it s been sitting in its current location for 30+ years. I admit I know very little about MM tractors, but I m not adverse to a project if I can reasonably expect to be able to assemble the necessary parts. Or should I part it out for others to use. Or should I just scrap it? What are y all s opinion?
Thanks?
-Dan

The previous pics were not very clear, hopefully theses are better.

Is that a factory LP set up or an aftermarket conversion? Either way, it would be cool if you could get t running.
Also, if it's aftermarket, another option might be to switch it back to gasoline.

If it were mine, Id try to save it, the serial tag you show is a 1950 283 engine used in the U tractor. It's probably a conversion as that tank isn't original to a U. The tag for the tractor is on the right side of the trans case, below the clutch handle. The casting numbers on the head, intake manifold style, etc. will tell if it was an original or at least a good conversion as the LP tractors had higher compression than gasoline tractors.Compression is changed by changing heads on these tractors, if it has 10A4209 heads it was probably a gas tractor. Could have been a LP but someone just changed the tank.Ensign was the original regulator and carb. Hope this helps

SAVE IT. Looks like a conversion. If you don't want to mess with it someone on here will probably give you more than scrap price. Depending where it is located. Doesn't look like it was beat up when it was parked. Also has power steering.

The tractor is located approximate 40 miles south of Abilene, TX, near the town of Wingate, Texas

Looks to be converted from gasoline. The hydraulic reservoir is in the normal place. The original LPs had them behind the tank on
top of the transmission if I remember correctly. I would try and save it if possible. Looks to have the original bullet style
muffler as well.

Appears to have factory style Ensign regulator. But I agree with Alan, Hyd reservoir located for gas production. Who ever converted it, done it right according to rear head looks to be a 10 head and you can see the heads have been changed.
Also hard to tell by the one picture but I think it has a cold manifold. Looks like it pulled a MM MP planter at one time. Those brackets alone are worth $100 for some one needing them, Very hard to find.

I see a sprocket on the back axle. Is that to drive a planter?
One sitting for 30 years outside in Michigan sure wouldn't look half a nice as this one.

Usually the sprocket on the rear axel drove a side dress fertilizer hopper mounted on the cultivator. They also made a seed hopper that mounted on the cultivator frame. But this tractor has brackets under the belly for a MP planter.

FYI...I took a few more pics of this tractor over the weekend. Can y'all glean any additional info from these pics? I'm still appreciative of any opinions/advise y'all can provide.
Thanks,
-Dan
