Radiator on my MM M5 DIESEL

Radiator is not the best. will leak when it has antifreeze, but not with straight water. I don't think I can remove the radiator without twisting off those-screws-bolts that have it attached to that tube. Maybe steering tube--not sure. The radiator is attached to a tube fixture and not just sitting there like most radiators on other tractors....Is there a way to install a newer radiator and not have it attached to that fixture?????

WHAT IS THE Radiator bolted to on the MM M5 ???? CAN a new radiator be installed without being bolted to that unit????

Yes rvirgil---I see that. Not going to be able to get a 62 year old radiator off that part with those small screws holding it down. Water goes into that part under the radiator..... Any way to plumb a new radiator on top of that part and have it work???? not bolted down as it is now......

You probably could find a radiator to mount just above the original mount. Not sure the capacity would be correct for working it hard or getting the proper flow to the water pump with the hose in a different location. You may be surprised on the bolts. I removed some on a ZA radiator and they did all come loose.

Radiator known for issues from vibration especially diesel. You can get a new one made and use your old tank.

What is that casting that the radiator is bolted to??? Something to do with the power steering???? OTHER???
I HAVE nine other tractors---None of them have that kind of a setup.....

Just go to your local radiator shop, they can get a new core and if you'd like can it
install it.If in doubt, my local radiator shop can do it, they're the best on antique cars, tractors, industrial. If it can be saved, they'll do that, not tell you you need one of the new cheap aluminum/plastic replacements

The rad casting is part of bolster. Power steering cylinder runs crossways through it. UB U special 5 Star 602 670 All use same setup.

John, what's the name/location of the shop you're using? We don't have any good shops up here anymore by Kankakee. Thanks

Brad
