More on Minnie Molines

Looks like: 1930 U serial 310 026, 1936 ZTU 560 001, 1936 ZTI 599 001, 1937 ZTS 610 001, 1938 GT 160 001, 1939 RT 400 001

that would be in the early 1900's. with the big old units. the 60-90 unit was the biggest back then.

He asked MM, they weren't formed till 1929, and then they were using the Twin City tractor. Ill John had the right answer.

Very interesting thread! :)
353, what exactly are ya lookin" for? Certified MM?

To be even more brutal/correct: March 30th, 1929 was the signing date for Minneapolis-Moline with Hopkins' Minneapolis line tagging in.
Before that day, we had MSM, Moline Plow and MTM. Hehe, where is the line you'd like to draw?
:)
Wouldn't that have been 1938 for 210036 U?
Yep, the Z beat 'em if talking earliest MM designed I believe.
What about little J and the R?
:)

I should probably know this but when did they start putting MM on the radiators of the Twin City tractors. Was it when they came out with the KTA, MTA, FTA, .... models?

Our KT does not have the MM on it.

All of my JTO's have the MM. JT's and KTA's both started in 1934 seems like the timing would have been right for the MM to be added to all of the models.

MMDel?

Best I found for the 21-32's.
The 10th 21-32 tractor in 1936 has Twin MM City on the top rad tank as opposed to Twin TC City.
This may have varied a bit as new parts added to the pile the assemblers had to choose from.

SW, I haven't been on the computer for a few days. I'm not an expert on twin City MM tractors. I was just a baby then. Brian Gonyea probably would have the correct answer. But I think IllJohn and Molinegb have the right answer. Wasn't the Twin City and the first and all the MM tractors built in the Lake Street Plant??
Just a thought to ponder, is it possible that the lake street plant had better facilities than the Minneapolis plant and that is why they promoted that tractor line.

(quoted from post at 20:52:39 02/04/23) I read he said the first type of m m . Im not wrong
either.

WMSTR353 is actually a she, but you already knew that.

Minneapolis Steel and Machinery Company which built Twin City traces back to 1902.

Minneapolis Threshing Machine Company was formed in 1874 and started building traction engines in 1891 with experimental gas traction development starting 1897. Both steam and gas traction engines were sold as Minneapolis.

Moline Plow bought the Universal Tractor Company in 1915 and sold the Moline Universal starting in 1915. This should not be confused with the Universal Tractor Company offering sold as the Minneapolis Universal Farm Motor and also the Rumley Gas Pull built in Stillwater of Crookston depending on how you interpret it.
