I finally got the login to keep me logged in so I can make a post lol I have a late 40s early 50s Minneapolis Moline I am putting back in running order for the owner. Can anybody identify the model or year from photographs? The data plate on the engine is to faint to read

Warm regards,

Gary[/img:11c0aeddcd]

should be another data plate on the right side of the transmission down by the breaks. This is the one with the serial number for the tractor

That s very odd because the brakes on this tractor or on the left side of the rear transmission and when I m able to photograph them I will send pictures but I think it s gonna take a while before I get to do that and then figure out how lol

Brake pedals are on the left side on a Z but there is a brake drum on each side. The tag larry is talking about is ahead of the brake drum.

if it's a U standard the brakes will be on the left side up to 1953.with disc brakes. At any rate, the tractor serial plate is on the right side of the tran-diff housing.

I ll make it over there today to look. There s an engine plate but I can t read it. I saw no tags of any sort around either side of the rear pumpkin under the seat nor on the axle flanges. Both brake pedals are on the left.

Still can t find a decent photo host site that s free. And uploading one here still doesn t work.[/img:edd75eab55]

You have 6 posts now. Photos should work for you. On modern view, go down below the reply box to where it says "Upload photos/videos".
Down below that it gives some guidelines. Otherwise, click on the "Choose Files" box, find the picture on your computer and double click on it. It will tell you it's uploading, and will let you know when it's done. Sometimes it takes a couple minutes. When it's done, click "preview" and see if it's what you want. Then click "submit" and you're good to go.

Thank you! But I m still absolutely clueless how this works. I added six photos below, but cannot figure how to add to post[/img:2550c27ee3]

You have a ZAS with the optional live PTO that is controlled by the lever on the left brake. S in ZAS means that it has a non-adjustable wide front. Has part of an add-on 3 point hitch and a really strange seat bracket. Look like great rear tires that are probably worth more than the tractor.

Also, just noticed that it has a pressurized radiator which came out on the late ZA's which would maybe make it a 1952 or '53. ZB's came out in 1953 and had the pressurized radiator and lot's of changes in the operator area. ZAS was still being made in 1953 while other front end types were replaced by the ZB series.

1952 ZAS. Wheels on backwards maybe to allow more room forhomemade 3pt. Scrapped three. Kept
motors and tin, frontends. Most common ZA here.

A ZA with a live pto is rare and I would by all means save it. I
would find the right seat and cut all that extra steel off the
back.

thank you folks! I ll let my customer know what he s dealing with, and when I get this fuel tank finished and get it running, he will have an easier time selling it.

This is in Washington state, not a lot of use for tractors out here anymore, but I m sure someone will want it. Any ideas on the best sites to list it after it s running!

Regards,

Gary

This site has a photo for sale on the left. If you are on modern, just click on the Yesterdays Tractor Co top left, then go to the column on the left side on the page. Ads are free.

Don't cut anything off or do anything drastic. You don't know what a potential customer might be interested in.

My customer is a great guy his father was a wonderful human being and I will do everything I can to help him so this and give somebody a good bargain yet not strip him of any thing he could ve otherwise earned to support his family with it

I got the model number visible!!!

Needs a starter

Model206B-A. (Maybe -4)

Any help with this to identify year? There s no plate or stamping near rear axle.

mvphoto98154.jpg

206B-4 is the model# of the engine. If you can make out the engine serial# on right side of the same tag it might be possible to pin down year of mfg. Apparently the tractor serial# tag on right side of trans is missing, as many are.
Your ZA would be somewhere between 1951-53 judging from pressure cap radiator. Should also have a Flote-Ride seat.

Thank you. Here s a couple more pics. The rear end simply has sheet metal covers strapped down around it.
I need a starter now. Cannot find a flangeless starter anywhere.

You might want to find a starter rebuilder and have them go thru it.

That s going to be my search Monday. I found many starters similar but all eitger had Bolt flanges or they had external armatures like the 54-59 Chevy and gmc truck starters, this one is fully integral.

Well looks like I got a lotta work to do tomorrow

Carb and starter refurbish on the docket.

She s a runner!!!! I rebuilt the carburetor I pressure washed and cleaned out the fuel tank with metal Ethel ketone and everything is good to go. The guy that owns it is currently got an offer of 1350 bucks for it is that too cheap or is that an OK price?

Correct we found no Lights ir sheet metal at his dads estate. So this is how it comes.

There is a giant brush hog behind it but not mounted. Fairly new one.

Thank you :). I hope he s happy with it also. But I think he was aiming for more lol.

He was offered 1300 for his 1962 Massey Ferguson 35 with a nice blade on the back in full working condition with all of its tin. Do you think that s a fair offer or a bit low?
