MM 900 PTO clutch

I suppose all makes require the same disassembly but one can get a bit frustrated that to simply adjust a clutch, one has to go to such extremes. The hitch isn't so bad but all the hydraulic lines! And there's no way of effectively draining the system of oil. By the time you get this apart, your shop floor is a sea of hydraulic oil and oil dry. Enough whining, time to get it back together.

You can adjust a G900 through the 4 bolt cover in the bottom of the rear end housing that is used for access for the trans lube pump pickup screen. Have to drain all the oil and can reach up through the hole.

Thanks for the tip. It needed more than an adjustment so I had to go in after it anyway. One of the links in the over-the-center clutch mechanism was gone, leaving only 2 of the 3 fingers to try to do the job. I can only figure that someone at some time failed to put this thing back together completely. The 2 clevis pins, gone, the 2 cotters that hold the clevis pins, gone, the link halves, gone. I searched the casing for an hour by hand, by eye and by magnet and found no trace of any of the parts. There is no way that the clevis pins broke, there is no way the link broke, there is no way the cotters worked lose and the pins fell out, there is no way all of these pieces left their original position and not a trace of them can be found, no way that they all magically moved together into the final drives. The cast ear(s) would break before any of that would happen, and even then, some part(s) would be left dangling. It was an adventure but it's fixed and the PTO works properly for the first time since I've owned the tractor!!
