M602 Hydraulic Question

If I could get my 3 pt to go up and down in less than 20 minutes, life would be so improved. The remotes don't seem to be very active either. How do I check hydraulic fluid? Where do I add? Where do I drain? Any hints would be helpful. I did see the 3 pt work in 2007 when I bought it, but this is the first year I've tried to use it.

I am guessing you have the Tel-O-Flo system on your 602.

On top, under the seat there is a steel plate with two levers in it. remove the plate, you will be able to see the oil level inside. You can fill there to within about 1-1/4" of the top with fluid. Dextron III is the modern replacement for the old type S fluid. Some people who use the remotes change over to Hytran or Transdraulic fluid so it will be compatable with their other make tractors.
Jetstars take about 1-1/2 gallons unless you are also filling the cylinders on a loader or something. Your 602 may take a bit more.

You should also check the level of your transmission fluid. If you have a lot more in there than is supposed to be there, the hydraulic fluid is leaking past the seal in the pump into the transmission.

Don't mean to be critical, but the housing has to be fuller than 1 1/4 or you are not going to have enough fluid. Fill to 3/4 inch to the top of the cavity with the 3pt arms down.

I put 6 qts of Dextron III in the resevoir this evening and the 3 pt goes up and down probably like it is supposed to. Thank you for your reply. Now to deal with the rusted frozen arm that no longer telescopes.
