White 2-155 fuel gauge

Looking for help with a white 2-155 fuel gauge. It always reads full. Single wire to the sender, but 3 wires to the dash unit.Any way to test the sending unit and the dash gauge? Thanks!

Usually when you remove the wire from the tank sending unit and ground it and the gauge goes to full the sender is at fault. If
yours is reading full, there might be a bad spot in the wire that is grounding the gauge. I think most of the time if the sending
unit is bad, the gauge usually reads empty.

Sending unit is basically a variable resistor, usually low ohms. If sending unit open or wire to it will read high to supply
voltage or as full tank. As tank lowers resistance increases and gauge goes down. By manually grounding wire to sender needle will
zero. If so gauge is good and sender bad.

Please correct me if I am wrong, it has been a while since dealing with one but 2-155 has a tank under hood and also one under cab on right side. I think both tanks have their own sending units that feed back to the gauge. Should be able to use an ohm meter and sweep senders to see if they are working.[/code]
