On my MM M5 there is a casting that is behind the power steering cylinder that is incorporated with the radiator. On that casting there is a pipe plug that is in front of the alternator and a little below.
I took that plug out and there was nothing in there to drain. I figured there might be water or oil...Hope I EXPLAINED IT GOOD ENOUGH....

M5 has generator. Pipe plug in is for gear oil for sector gear setup. There is a piston across front that uses hydraulics for power steering. Separate circuit.

Mine has the ALTERNATOR--Must have been changed. No oil came out. Do I NEED TO ADD OIL???? If so where. Thanks for your help. Need a little more info...

Original generator. Check level. Has to be gear oil in cavity. If not seal below is leaking. Is basically a gearbox. Use something to check level. Pipe plug is on top. Maybe someone filled with grease to keep seal from leaking. Not an issue as long as has some lubrication.
