Thrust bearing spindle Jet Star

While changing the front left spindle, p o had used the wrong one. After getting the bushings out and cleaning up the hole, I cant find or see if there is, or was ever a bearing there. The bushing came all the way down to the end of the spindle housing and should there have been a bearing there the bushing would have covered it up.
This tractor has a Type E front axle.
Both the shop manual and the parts manual show the Thrust bearing being part of the assembly. Maybe I'm missing something???

I believe there are bushings in the knee of the axle where the spindle goes through, top and bottom. The thrust bearing sits at the bottom of the knee to push up against it as it sits on the spindle.

That makes sense, never seen it done that way before, but hey what do I know.
25 degrees and snow here in Northern Mich. Guess Ill get another cup of coffee, turn the heat on in the garage, and see if I a figer it out.
Thanks,
Brian

And you sir were correct. Never seen a bearing used like that before.
Got bushings in bearing on and spindle installed
Thanks to all for your comments and help

Glad you got it together. I had one on an M5 I bought where the thrust bearing was worn so bad it wedged in where the bushing was. It wouldn't turn at all anymore.
