Minneapolis Moline Z

I picked up this tractor and need to order parts from Steiner. They dont specifically show parts for a Z just like a ZA or ZAU or other. Is mine one of these?

with a serial number we can tell you the model and year. the tag is on the right side of the transmission also.

Z was the overall series model.

Early series up through about 1948 were ZT series, Later were ZA series with a third letter to designate front end style.

First 3 digits of later serial numbers indicate model and style.
Your 006 is a ZAU built in 1950. U indicates a universal or 2 wheel narrow front end, ZAE was extended or adjustable wide front, ZAN was a narrow one wheel front, ZAS was standard or fixed wide front.

What parts are you looking for?

Thanks so much for the information. Cleaning out the fuel system. Sediment bowl, fuel cap and carb gaskets at this point.

A-second version. (The original was a 'T' which I think stands for 'Tractor'.)

U-front axle style: 'U'-2 wheel narrow front. The other styles:

'E'- adjustable wide front axle. 'S'- fixed width front axle ('Standard') 'N'- Single wheel narrow front.

BTW, later in the 1950 model year, MM switched to the Flote-Ride seat and 5 3/4 domed headlights. Yours was a little earlier and would have come with the boxy seat w/integral backrest and 7 flat-lens lights. Change was made at ZAU serial# 00604141.
