I bought this little beaut at an auction today! Its not stuck and pretty straight.

I'll bet $20 no one can find more than 2 people with earlier GVIs! ha ha

Plus, it has cast iron GVI MM rear wheel weights and optional homemade cab, so the original owner must have been proud as punch of it back in the day! lol

Neighbor worked for MM dealer when GV1 came out. Was sent out on service calls to change axles in field. GV1 was prone to snapping axles.

kinda wonder how they would snap and axle,... not very powerful machine. i had an axle break on my 97 and had to change it in the field. i run both tractors and that 95 was gutless.

Have a G704 with a grey axle housing. Probably duals or big rubber. Was also some bearing issues. My G704 had a 536 c i motor.

(quoted from post at 16:31:56 04/03/22) that has 2 pairs of weights on it??? what is the tractor sitting behind it?

There were three gvis in a row. Its funny yall mentioned breaking axles - the one to the north had one snapped off at the housing.

Yes - weights might be worth more than the tractor - this old beast felt like a 12,000 pound tractor when were loading. My winch snapped a chain and then a snatch block wrestling it on!

Farmers out here on the high plains tended to really weigh them down heavy!! Here are some better pics of the weights inside and out.

My boy was really relieved to get that thing loaded up!!
