1967 MM U302. Lower right hand side (seated on tractor) there is a housing that the brake linkage enters. There is a spring loaded dust cover over that hole. We have a fair amount of lube leaking from that hole. Planning on removing the cover to see whats going on next weekend. Not sure what I will be looking at or looking for. Wonder if this rings any bells for anyone....advice? Thoughts? Thanks

Sounds like it is time to replace the seals behind the brakes. There are two seals that go in the housing behind the interior brake disc.
The seals are items #11 and #12 below. There is also an o-ring, item #10.

Thanks. Appreciate the advice. Sounds like
you have done this before. Doesn't appear
it will be a tough job. I will have an
idea of what to look for. Do you know if
those seals and o rungs are readily
available?
Thanks

Seals and I ring should be available through your local Agco dealer. Or can get it apart to interchange the number off th seals and measure o ring and all could be obtained from a local auto parts store more than likely.

The weather finally has gotten to the point Dad and I can work on this and enjoy it a bit. I have a couple of questions though. I have removed the brake discs and the casting behind the discs. The seal that is in the casting is deteriorated and obviously leaking. I am not sure how to remove the old seal and install the new one. The seal seems to sit in a groove. The diameter of the bearing race on the one side is smaller than the seal assembly. The casting diameter on the other side also is smaller???? I did see a special tool listed in the catalog i bought after seeing your posting which has helped alot.
#1 any advice on removing the old seal and installing the new one?
#2 do i need the special tool? what does it look lik? what does it do? is it available?
#3 i only see the 1 seal....thoughts on where the other one is?

You have to pound the race out, then pound out the seal, pound in the new seal, then pound the race back in.

Thanks. I was thinking that might be the case but its nice to know prior to pushing on it or tapping on it.
