Most items are still available from Case IH. Look up a Farmall 1206 with front wheel assist. It also used a Coleman.

A couple things on the to do list:

The power steering does not work. I changed the hydraulic fluid and filter. The remotes make noise like they have pressure when pushing the levers but I havent tried a cylinder on them.

The clutch wants to stay engaged unless I hold the brakes. I have adjusted the clutch to the proper pounds to run the lever with no change. If I pull the clutch with no load it wants to keep going till I hit the brakes. Advice? This Tractor has not pulled anything besides its own weight in a lot of years. Do the plates get sticky?

Did you spray down the
spline shaft with wd40?
Sounds like hydr.pump is
working did the hoses get
rerouted to the steering
cylinder or is bypassing
inside cylinder.

Ill try the wd40

I studied others and hoses are correct. Must be in the cylinder? Who rebuilds these?

so do u have 75 lbs of push to engage the clutch. i remember that number from 30 years ago. does it snap out when you pull the clutch handle
back? how come you dont post the spec's when u say proper lbs? maybe you have oil on the clutch disc!!

I havent measured it but it takes a strong push to snap in. Could have some oil it? Like is said its just a show tractor. A guy should probably work it.

Have you tried pulling the clutch handle as far back as it will go?

There is a friction disk that engages when the clutch handle is pulled rearward that acts as a tranny brake. A lot of times the disk is worn or missing. My 706 wants to keep motoring along with the clutch dis-engaged but will stop if I pull the clutch level fully back.

Ill give it a try. Thanks.

I really should keep my nose out. These were still Twin Disc clutches yes?
Many of the older-still clutches (1919/1920+) suffered from broken springs as the decades went by.
The springs help push the clutch sections apart to disengage. Yes, the clutch facings had their issues also.
Other mfgr's using Twin Disc also had this issue. I paraded a Rumely-6 one time. Scared me bad. Nice tractor!
You don't suppose your springs are broken hence the no-disengage?

Its possible? She doesnt live a working life anymore but I suppose splitting it would let me take care of it.

Mopower02;
On that tractor with the two clutch plates. It is impossible to get at the center driving plate to lube the splines. However on a single disc that is a very good idea, on the rear driving plate just in front of the adjusting ring you could spray your favorite penta juice. Another problem could be the the plates and steel plate have slightly rusted themselves together. Also if everything is free what SW Moline said might be the problem.
Before you split it, back up against a tree, set the brakes, loosen the adjusting ring a half round or so, start it up, engage the clutch lever, and work the throttle shaft at the gov arm with your hand up and down quickly. let things rattle around to free things up.
If you do split it be sure to lube the splines with neversieze. And replace all the springs.MMDEL
