Slipping Ampli-Torque

Torq lever has to have a good snap to it. If not adjust through hole. If doesn't help time for rebuild

As molinegb said, might need an adjustment. The plug is to the rear of the lever as it goes into the case. Once out, spin clutch assembly to find a spring loaded pin in the notches of the assembly. Then using
screwdrivers push pin in as you spin the notched ring clockwise. Try a few notches and try the lever. Once adjusted get spring locking pin back into a notch to hold adjustment.

Does it slip in low range, high range, or both? Adjusting the clutch pack tighter through the side hold will only remedy a slip in high range. Low range functions by a one way roller clutch that wears out. Oil level is splash filled from the transmission, so transmission/rear end would have to be out of oil before Ampli-torc would start to run low. I would think a transmission bearing would fail before any negative effects on the ampli-torc. If Ampli-torc slips in high and adjustment does not correct it, the fingers or linings on the clutch discs are probably worn out.
