I admired a bellowing crossmotor powering a threshing machine at grandpas circa 1940. I assumed it was a Case, but a little older uncle said it was an MM?? Leo

Minneapolis co. did, the 17-30, 17-30A, 17-30B, later upgraded to 27-44, But that was before MM

For some time after the March 30, 1929 formation of Minneapolis Moline, you could still get a new MTM (Hopkins) cross-motor Minneapolis tractor as MM used up their stock of parts much like some Twin City tractors.
Circa 1940 is pushing the time-line very hard but it may have been possible to stop in a MM dealership in 1940 and see a new or refreshed cross-motor Minneapolis ready to go back to work.
They do run pretty!
