Jetstar hydraulic remote

Looking for some guidance. I have a 1960 jetstar I recently acquired. The remote was leaking heavily so I took it apart. By my diagram there should be 3 o-rings one for each control. When I disassembled it I found it only had one o-ring, which was the one on the large shaft control to the housing. It was more dust then an o-ring and the other two were non existent. I was able to order new o-rings through welters. Upon re-assembly it was very difficult to put the roll pin on the detent cam. I was able squeeze it all together but now the controls are so tight they all operate together unless you hold the other handles in place. My service manual shows the first o-ring is recessed into the housing and the other two o-rings between each control handle. Is this where they go? Should there be a groove for the o-rings?

There should be an o ring groove in the inner bore of the middle lever and inner lever from what I remember. O ring goes in the groove in the bore. All levers have to be taken apart from each other to do this. There should be centering springs on the lever shaft for both of the hydraulic remotes. If yours are broken or missing then the levers will drag on each other.

Yes, I found the grooves inside the bore of the shafts. Thank you. Not sure how I missed them when I was cleaning everything.
