445 engine help

Had a knock in my 445 engine last winter, so today I pulled off the side panel. I think number one was a little loose, by feel so I removed the rob cap. I cannot see the part number stamping on bearing only the date of 2 56. Measured the journal and its 2.623. Being I could not see any numbers I pulled the cap off of number 4. Again no bearing numbers and the same date 2 56.
So I think this is a standard size. The question is can I only buy one bearing insert and the side inspection plate gasket? If so suggestions where I can start calling on Saturday. Thanks in advance.

Well, I am thinking the crank is between .0015 and .002 under size. My Federal Mogul book says the crank should be 2.6245 to 2.625 dia. (standard). I assume you measured more than one place around the journal. Rod journals tend to wear egg shaped.

Did you Plasti-guage it to see what the bearing to journal clearance actually is?

Also, what oil are you running? My experience is that MMs don't like very thin oil. Also, What is your oil pressure?
