Minn.Moline Z-is there a market for this?

I am pursuing this on behalf of my Dad. His MM Z is currently parked under the shade trees. He says the starter has died. There is no interest at present for any work/restoring that the Z desperately needs. Basically what we have is a large paperweight for the yard.
What I'm really wondering is if there is any interest in selling it as is? Is there always a market for MM Z? I don't know enough people close to me to ask.
Dad has decided that looking at it sitting there is really depressing, and I have to agree.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
Daughter of the MM Z Owner

Everything has value, scrap price is up right now if you absolutely can't find a buyer for it. Value depends a lot on location, condition of tractor and tires on the tractor, which specific model of Z it is (ZT, ZA, ZB). Pictures help greatly with value. If it's rough with junk tires here in MN it's probably a $300-$400 tractor. There are collectors who might want it, either to fix or to use for parts to fix another one. They were a common tractor by MM standards. Similar to a B John Deere or H Farmall. Usually don't have to look hard to find one if you want one.

Hello, If Secret Squirrel is too far from you I am interested in your tractor if it is still available. I am outside of Ames so not too far
away. I think I saw it on FB. I am trying to find something that will help me get my Dad's tractor running again. Do you think the engine
would be rebuildable? Thank you.

I will be asking Dad several questions on Tuesday, so I will post again when I have more facts. I don't have anything posted on FB concerning the MM.
I'll be back on here Tuesday.
Thanks!

Okay, I'm back today after talking with my Dad. I know a few more details on the MM. Dad says this is a 1950 ZAU. It has rear power take off
and a belt pulley. Dad says it is good enough to restore, with good tires that hold air. He also has a second set of rear tires. Dad said he
had the engine rebuilt not to long after he got it, which was around 1968-1970. Any more and this sounds like an ad- so I'll stop here. This
is pretty much all the information I got today.
So, all that being said, maybe this info makes my original question make more sense?
I appreciate all the responses.

Thanks,
Daughter of the MM Owner

IMHO, from your description assuming weathered paint and fair but usable tires, advertising it for $500 to $750 and actually selling it for $300 to $600 (anything over double the scrap value) would be high enough to find it a good home where it will be appreciated. The buyer will probably like to talk to your dad about the tractor and get your dad's stories about it. Your dad might enjoy that too.

I want to say thank you to everyone who responded to my inital post. After much debating, asking around, and getting serious about selling the MM AZU, Dad decided to have it taken to a local sale located not to far from where we live. I went to the auction lot, and got a good response from the main auctioneer. If you know about Clayton County, Strawberry Point, Iowa, you might know where Joel Everitt has his sales. We had a good trip with the hauling of the MM. I think my Dad's late Uncle Everett( He was the first person who worked with my Dad to get it running) was our guardian angel for this last trip. I am a little sore from the loading, but we had a great weather day for it. My Dad says he feels better now that he doesn't have to look at it sitting there under the trees. I know that Dad got to make the decision to let it go, and I'm thankful for that. So thanks again! You are all appreciated!

It hasn't sold yet. The auction isn't until August 25th. I hope to know what the final total is by the next day. I'll repost after it's all said and done.

Okay, I'm back for one last post. The sale of the MM ZAU went better than I expected. It actually sold for $700! My Dad is very happy that it brought that price, and this was right in the middle of the sell price that was given to me from the auctioneer himself.
Best news, it sold.

Better news! If we hadn't moved the tractor out from under the tree canopy and taken it to the sale, there wouldn't be any tractor left. My Parent's booxwood tree blew over in Tuesday nights storm, and fell right where the tractor had been parked for the last 2 years!

So we have all decided that this was a sign, and between God, Uncle Everett and Aunt Vin, this was approval from above.

Once again, thank you all for your assistance!

(quoted from post at 22:24:12 08/26/21) Glad it sold well for you and it was saved
from getting crushed by that tree! Hopefully
it went to a good home and will be brought
back to life.

What he said--x 2.
