Looking at buying a u302 on auction. When I look this up on tractor data they list rear pto as 540 or 1000 rpm. Is this correct or is this a typo? Im looking for tractor with 1000 pto for my wood chipper. But this seems a bit small to have the 1000 pto. http://www.tractordata.com/farm-tractors/000/9/6/967-minneapolis-moline-u-302.html

1000 RPM shaft WAS optional but would be as rare as hen's teeth. I have never seen one in person on a U-302. JD had 1000 RPM PTO option on 2 cylinder 30 series (630 etc.).

Ok so you cant change it it is either 540 or 1000 not both IE flip the shaft around?

No it's not that simple. According to parts catalog the gears are different on both ends of the shaft (both the pinion and the drive gear) and the shaft is unique to 1000 RPM.
