Moline 5 star

I am looking for an old tractor like an
Allis Chalmers D17, but I found a
Minneapolis Moline 5 Star for less than the
D17's sell for. The engine has been
rebuilt, and is the same size and
horsepower as D17. Are these tractors
reliable and good for work?

Yes, check out the Ampli-torque before using it, if its working now learn how/when to use it before working it,as you can make it unusable.Its lubed by a splash system and needs to be warmed up to have proper lube

Yes, a very usable tractor. I have have a gas wf, 3pt model. It is down now because of cooling issues, and the PS leaks bad out of where the steering shaft goes in. My TA never did work. Give it a good test drive and check those issues. They are just a glorified U , but a nice tractor.

I have diesel version. Has some hyd issues and TA doesnt work. Over all been a good tractor.
