Anyone have any experience with an A4t-1600 transmission?

Friend purchased one. No matter, the gear, or high or low, there is a knock in the tranny. Sounds like a tooth is off.

He just repaired the clutch.

Thoughts?

I don't know, but there's an article about the 2655s (Same thing) in the new Oliver Heritage that just came. It said they used a G1350 transmission, but when they started using the HD800 engines, transmissions started to fail after about 500 hours. Just too much horsepower. It says they developed a new helical gear transmission for them.

when white made the a4t-1600 tractors they came with a hollow top shaft so as to run inner shaft back for the drive the pto. If you twisting their tails you need .to replace with a solid shaft in place of hollow shaft. I nearly bought a a4t-1600 years ago and it already had solid in it. gear teeth can only stand so much
