MM602

Is there a source for the sway bars for the 3 pt on an M602? I think they go from the center of the drawbar frame out to the lower link pins.
Thanks

Not that I know of, only if you run across some used ones. They normally just had limit chains from the center of the drawbar support up to the 3pt arms which Im sure you already knew.

I can't say I've ever seen one with sway bars. All of them I know have sway chains. They are a very large link that has sort of a clevis on each end. The chain length is adjusted based on which link you pin it to. They should be very easy to make something work. I haven't seen many that the original chain doesn't have splice links welded in. A parts book should give you a sort of idea.

I think Ive seen pictures of some of the bars he is referring to but they were used on something like a 3pt mounted mower on 4 Stars 302s etc. to prevent sway all together.

I have a set for my U-302 Super. I used them for the rear rig with a front mount cultivator. The sway bars attach to a cast bracket that bolts to the center holes where the sway chains attach on the tractor. As stated in another post, they would also work on a 3-point mower or something similar.

I have the chains but I cant set them tight enough to keep the blade straight behind me or keep the mower from getting very close to the back tires when mowing ditchs. If I set the chains tight enough they run out of length and stop the 3 pt from getting to the top. I saw an m5 at a show and it had a set of bars that went from the bracket in the center of the drawbar frame out to the lower lift link pins . The bracket iin the center of the drawbar frame will pivot forward and back to allow the 3 pt full range of motion. Maybe I c an make some. Thank you for the responses.

I have a set of those, I've used them on my M670 and my Brown Jet.Could possibly send pictures and measurements to your phone. eight four seven-three 0 nine-seven 34 seven

I remember dad used those bars on the 670 with the A frame quick hitch for the cultivator to keep it from wandering around.

I have a set for my Jetstar. I found out quickly that you can't use them with the pto shield in place, unless you want it mashed. So I guess you run without a shield if you operate a mower.

I would think you could modify a set of aftermarket Ford/Massey sway bars,They just need to be shortened some an have parallel bends put in them so the fit in the clevis under the pto shaft. They go on the implement pins inboard of the lift arms. Provided of course that you still have the clevis under the pto on your tractor. Its got to be on there because the links move inward when the lift goes down and move outward when the lift goes up.

If you want some, call Wendell Everett 740-922-3335, or Welters 417-498-6496. (I guess Welters is still in business, I know there was a death in the family.)

Don't have any but we used them for many years on our 602 with semi mount plow. They worked quite well and were easier to hook up than most arrangements. Just lift the unit up sway it til all centre holes line up, insert 5/8 pin, you're good to go.

Reviving an old thread here. Does anyone have any sway bars or linkage for a Jet Star? Even photos would be helpful. Thanks.
