54 MM ZB head issue

1954 MM ZB. Restoring this tractor with my son as it was my grandpa's tractor. Sat for approximately 15 years and was lightly stuck when I got it. Had to remove head due to debris inside from rotten upper radiator hose being gone. Removed and cleaned head. Replaced one stud due to poor threads. Cleaned gasket surfaces well with carbide scraper. New head gaskets installed. Bolts torqued in proper sequence and to the 45-50 ft pounds as indicated in the manual.

Issue: Start filling the cooling system and, as water begins to enter head, water fills rear cylinder from the top. I find no cracks or gaps. The gaskets appear to align correctly. We've removed the head several times but cannot seem to find the issue.. I'd appreciate any help from those who have experience working on these. Thanks.

Won't be head issue. One of blocks will be cracked or porous above cylinder in water jacket. Seen many.

Yup junk jug. Usually really hard to see. I built a pressure tester so I don't have to guess if they are good anymore. I have one good standard bore one on hand right now I would sell if you are interested.
