Fellows,i boight this mm 445 2 years ago..ehgine is strong, pto strong, fel strong, high range gear lever works well.overall im very happy with this old girl...however.i had 2 acres of woods timbered, ive been using"mini-mo" to pull the tops out of woods to sell for firewood.the clutch isnt slipping.when clutch pedal is pushed in to change gears ,i think the throw out bearing or pressure plate or something in there is grinding(can feel vibration in clutch pedal).the noise and vibration is getting more often and its starting to get difficult to go in reverse unless i shut tractor engine off..it will sometimes try and move in direction of gear selected when clutch pedal is in whole way..i tried adjusting clutch pedal.its maxed out.no more adjusment..i aslso greased zerks on starter side.i saw there is a grease line to throw out bearing..i put 3 pumps in it.does it need more grease?or do i need to split tractor to see whats going on in there?nuetral and in any gear with clutch pedal not pushed in,no noise at all.... suggestions???

Split tractor. Change clutch and pressure plate as well get flywheel machined.Change pilot bearing. Check throwout and forks for
wear. May as well do it right. No simple fix for clutches usually.

where is a good place to buy clutch parts you recommend...have u spit a 445?ive never done it.ive rebuilt lots of small bock chevy v8s and a few auto transmission s.im sure i can spit tractor..how on earth do you line everythg back up to slide it back together.each half is easily a2000 lbs...

Hi capacity makes nice clutches. My local Agco dealer is able to get them. You will also want to replace the grease hose for the throw out bearing. I have spit many of them to find a pile of grease and a broken hose. Good bottle jack or floor jack under the back half, with blocking also almost touching the rear end incase the jack settles. Chain hoist gantry or a good cherry picker on the front half and split it apart. Make sure new clutch disc is aligned just like doing on a truck or anything else. Some long bolts with heads cut off help get things going together straight. They usually slip together pretty good if you have everything nice and stable and well supported and straight.

I just split my Jetstar 3 after some similar symtoms
It split easier than I expected
It helps to replace two or three short bolts with long ones 8-9 inchs, helps the alignment when putting it back together
Turns out, one of the three fingers which work to disengage the pressure plate failed
Good luck
