445 Questions

I ran across a MM 445 tractor the other day and I have a few questions for you guys. The tractor is a 1958 model, gas engine, front end loader, good tires, and looks complete. It hasn't ran in 5+ years, I didn't have any tools to try and turn the motor over but the fan will move freely.

Are parts (aftermarket) available for the 445 model? Was this a good reliable tractor?

I don't know much about the MM tractors, i don't really need this one but I hate to see it just sitting in the grass with weeds growing up around it.

The guy also has a MM model BF tricycle for sale, looks fairly complete, motor might be stuck, i couldn't get the fan to move at all. It is located in the western NC area.

Decent tractors. Similar in size to the jet star series. Parts availability like most tractors of that age. Just have to know where to look

They are decent tractors. I have a 1956 model that I use for doing hay. Worth getting a hold of. The bottom seat cushion has springs in it since there is no seat suspension. I bought mine off of ebay for a JD of the same time period. Helps with the ride. Any pictures of the tractor?

Here is about the best picture i got the other day, next time i'm out there i plan on taking a wrench to see if the engine is stuck or not. The water
pump moves, tranny shifter moves, just not sure about other stuff. I've bought a 555 Ford backhoe and a 5040 AC from the guy already, the backhoe had
set for 5+ years and the engine was slightly stuck, got it to move, along with a few other repairs its become the handiest machine on the farm.

Looks to be an MM loader or Schwartz (model 1400) brand. Looks like something you can work with. I like mine for cutting hay and a few other things.
