UDLX Horn Location

Attached is a drawing of the horn (P/N: JT-1392) for a UDLX tractor that I received from the Floyd County Museum. I have seen horns on UDLX tractors in various locations. I've viewed my manuals but there are not any drawings that identify horn location. I would appreciate some input on where the correct horn location should be.

Good input. I've seen this pic before but never noticed the horn in it. It's located in an awfully crowded area but the horn bracket and horn size would indicate that it would likely fit. I think there's a UDLX coming up for auction (Mecum-Dave Anton Collection) shortly that may actually have the horn in that location. I wasn't totally sure from the pic of the engine area of the tractor but in reviewing it, it looks like the horn.

Thanks for your input.

Re: Oh, to have such problems
On this project this is just one of a thousand. I have pictures of many UDLX tractors and several with lots of detail pix. You would be surprised to see how many variations there are in what would seem like standard features. The horn is one but things like wiring, switches, governor, exhaust system, firewall kick plate, etc. can be different. In addition I have some Jensen pix of a prototype tractor. Even those have questionable locations for some things. Of course, on the first 25 tractors there were a lot of things that changed as they were being built. I have perhaps 65 drawings and it's interesting to note the revision levels and dates and features affected.

Regarding the pic, I have seen this pic before and the location of the horn in it seems like the most logical place to put it with the exception that it is somewhat close to the exhaust manifold. The location shown in the other pic is crowded but avoids the exhaust manifold.

Thank you for input.

When I first started to play with MM tractors, a wise collector told me that Minnie Mo never built two tractors the same. Even on the high volume units like the U model, running changes were made on a daily basis. Keeps life interesting. unc

UNC, My grandfather told me the same thing many, many moons ago as well. For instance, on the ZT, the early tractors had hood side panels that had the rods to hold them up. No part number change though. It also required a change to the radiator fan shroud. But I still love me some prairie gold.

Horn was mounted on a L piece which mounted to flat iron that bolted to front of head with two bolts. Horn was on left side. Can tell by looking at some old b/w original pictures.
