I know very little about MM. A friend has this tractor to be hauled off but I don't even know what it is. What am I looking at?

An LP UTU and if the engine has a one piece block (one block for all four cylinders) it (the engine) is a 47 or older. 283 cubic inches.

It is a model UTU on LP. With the 2 piece rear wheel centers and the large bolt pattern on the front hubs I'd say early 1950's model. If it still has a serial number tag it would be located on the right side of the transmission housing in front of the brake and above the belt pulley drive.

Advertise it and in the classifieds on this web site, if you don't find a taker here.

thanks mmdel and Rich. It supposedly is free and will turn over but not start. like I said I'm not an MM person and certainly not ready to do LP but I don't want to see old iron scrapped. So it is a U, any idea on the year? I will follow up with potential new homes. Yes, I am in central Texas south of Austin.

You said HAULED OFF I hope you don't mean scrap!!! That tractor is a 100% in better condition than 50% of the tractors that are restored. I have ten "U"s But I would buy it to save it. BUT I assume you are in Texas according to your Handle, and I am in Illinois. MMDEL
